Bespoke demountable flood barrier.
Reason for requirement:
The property was built circa 1900’s overlooking stunning views of the North Norfolk Coast. Creeks run all along this part of the coast, and one in particular runs directly along and up to the bottom of the garden of the property.
The property has just undergone a complete and sympathetic restoration and has a wonderful panoramic glazed walled area to the kitchen/dining area. Views from here overlook the creeks, the marsh, and out to sea.
A bespoke Waterwall system was needed to protect this area should a storm surge or extremely high tide threaten it with flooding.
A raised patio area was built incorporating a concrete plinth into which three core holes were drilled to a depth of 250mm to accommodate post holders which were cemented in place – when not in use, protective caps are screwed into place.
Post holders are to take demountable aluminium or steel posts. Permanent rails were then fixed to either side (end) of the glazed area completing the frames to take the 14 sealing plates. A bespoke T-section was fabricated to take up the return to a small wall which completed the protection of this area.
