The Flood Sensor is a mobile flood warning system which monitors the water level. The system’s aim is to ensure the safety of personnel working in confined spaces where there is a water course in the vicinity, but it has many flood safety applications.
How it Works
1. The flood sensor warning system comprises of two parts, the detector (A) and the monitoring/signal unit (B) with three optional power supplies: battery, wind turbine or solar.
2. When there is a height change in the water level, information is fed back from the detector to the monitoring unit.
3. If the pre-set data is exceeded, an audible alarm is triggered alongside a text message and mobile phone alert.
Why use the Flood Sensor
Floods can be very unpredictable. Often teams can be concentrating on the project management and the threat of sudden rise in water level is not monitored during confined space safety work.
With the “fail safe” system built in, the Flood Sensor will make sure that your people will not be trapped in a life threatening situation due to increased water levels.
Flood Sensor Applications
- Confined space safety
- Drainage works
- Culvert cleaning
- Sewerage systems
- Bridges and tunnels
- Docks and mining
The Flood Sensor warning system has been successfully used as confined space safety management equipment by Civil Engineering companies such as Birse Civils.
